Wagga City Council has parted ways with its Commercial and Economic Development Director, Peter Adams.
Council general manager Alan Eldridge issued a short statement on Monday around lunchtime advising that Dr Adams’ contract had been “brought to an end” with immediate effect.
Dr Adams was appointed to his position in February 2011, initially on a five-year deal.
The Advertiser understands his contract was renewed for a further 12 months, to run until February 2017, in the middle of this year by former general manager Phil Pinyon.
Dr Adams is the third senior council employee to exit the organisation in recent months.
Mr Pinyon tendered his resignation from council in September with 18 months remaining on his contract, while former infrastructure services director Heinz Kausche left in November, citing a need to pursue “other opportunities”.
