“Picardy PS I Love You” – better known as Carla – has has scooped the pool at one the nation’s best dog shows, the Young and District All Breeds Kennel Club annual show.
The standard white female poodle has collected a swag of prizes recently, including Best In Show at the recent Royal Melbourne Show recently.
But looking after such a decorated dog comes with its challenges, according to owner Lorraine Boyd.
“When we’re at home, to protect her coat, she has all of that long hair wrapped up in pretty pink latex bands and little plastic bags, almost like she’s in hair rollers,” Mrs Boyd said.
Young and District All Breeds Kennel Club president Damian Bourne was rapt with the weekend and is primed for next year.
“We had arguably 12 of the best breeds in Australia in Young on the weekend,” Mr Bourne said.
