Stakes, a film that follows the journey of a young aspiring thoroughbred trainer in a fictional town seeking to fill the shoes of her recently-deceased father while battling a corrupt establishment, has been in production for around two years.
The movie filmed at a number of prominent locations around Wagga, including at the Murrumbidgee Turf Club.
It has been the second feature-length film to film in Wagga in recent years after Backyard Ashes.
Several well-known Wagga identities feature in the film, including Adam Drummond and former police superintendent Frank Goodyer.
Stakes has opened around the country in around 50 independent theatres.
