Aspiring basketballers and netballers take note, the chance to earn a spot within the Southern Sports Academy is closing fast.
Nominations for both programs will close early next week, with trials taking place on Saturday October 17.
The Academy offers scholarships to athletes in a number of sports, with quality coaching and advice aimed at helping promising players reach their potential.
Basketball runs separate programs for boys and girls aged 13-16 (born between 2000 and 2003), with head coach Matt Bishop to oversee trials at Wagga’s Bolton Park.
Netball trials will be held over two days at Junee with selected players invited to return for phase two on Sunday October 18.
The netball program, overseen by Rosemary Clarke, is open to girls born between 2000 and 2002.
Around 20 spots are likely to be offered in each program following the trials.
Application forms are available on the academy’s website www.ssa-nsw.org.au
