Samuel James Haynes met Anita Maree Waters through mutual friends at a small gathering and he later proposed to her in the afternoon prior to dinner.
The couple were later married on Pallarenda Beach in Townsville in an intimate ceremony attended by 30 people from Wagga, Adelaide, Brisbane and Townsville.
It was perfect weather prior to the ceremony but the wind picked up and the clouds rolled in as they day continued.
But the extreme weather conditions could not to ruin the couple’s special day.
A small cocktail/evening reception was held a home with fairy lights and bamboo torches to set the mood.
Anita, the eldest daughter of Ian and Caroline Waters of Uranquinty, wore an Alfred Angelo gown as she was walked down the aisle by her father.
Samuel, the eldest son of Shane and Joanne Haynes of Brisbane, was joined by the couple’s children Jaydon and Daniel as best man and page boy, respectively.
The couple honeymooned on Magnetic Island for a few days at Peppers Resort where they went horse riding and swam with horses on the beach.
