
DAVID Ferguson’s team from The Rules Club captured the $10,000 Classic Fours tournament at the Wagga RSL Club on Monday.
Ferguson and his team of Garry Clark, Peter Harry and David Quigley went through the three-day tournament undefeated to claim the $4000 first prize.
The defending champions, Lee Stimson’s team from Orange, finished second with five wins from six games, and a margin of 47.
The 2013 winners, David Ivanhoff’s team from Narrandera, was close up in third place with five wins and a margin of 43.
The Tumut team headed by Larry Stitt and Peter Forck’s composite team rounded out the top five and all finished with five wins from six games.
With 22 teams in action over three days, Wagga RSL Men’s Bowling Club publicity officer Brian Lawrence declared the annual tournament a success.
“It was a big success,” Lawrence said.
“All the players were impressed by the state of the greens.”
