Thieves get away after car chase
THIEVES have eluded police on foot after a frantic vehicle pursuit in the early hours of Monday morning.
Wagga highway patrol officers initiated a chase at about 3.15am when they passed a Mazda sedan on Fernleigh Road that had been stolen from a Turvey Park residence earlier in the night.
The Mazda, which had a driver and passenger aboard, turned down a dirt road after a short chase and collided with a fence.
The occupants ran from the scene and are yet to be located by police.
