Griffith barber Tony Battaglia still lopping locks at 90

Griffith snipper Tony Battaglia will turn 90 today and has been cutting hair in the region for nearly 60 years – and counting.

“I love coming to work,” Mr Batagglia said. “It keeps me motivated. I cut someone’s hair this morning who I first saw back in 1957.”

The customer was only a boy back then, but now black hair has given way to grey.

Even though he’s 90, Mr Batagglia still handles the comb and scissors well and said he’ll be doing it in another 10 years.
