Narrandera Shire is chockers with events this October long weekend.
Narrandera is Rockin on East from Friday to Sunday, October 2 to 4.
Nothing gets a party started like ’50s and ’60s music and to attest to that will be visiting bands including The Smoking Wingtips and Rock Around the World (Melbourne), Play it Cool (Lockhart), Family Affair and Cool Change (Griffith), Joe Attana (Cobram), Elvis Trio (all over NSW) and Sameera (Narrandera) and Narrandera Community Singers.
Narrandera boutiques and coffee shops will be trading; and street cars, dancing in the street and full rock n roll regalia will be the order of the weekend.
If you’re a movie buff, feature movies playing at the Plaza Theatre in Bolton Street on Saturday at 11am, 2pm, 5pm and 7.30pm will be “The Girl Can’t Help It”, “Grease”, “Rock Around the Clock” and “American Graffitti”. On Sunday at 1.30pm, 4.30pm and 7pm, you’ll be able to enjoy “Rebel Without a Cause”, “Jailhouse Rock” and “Easy Rider” in the respective time slots.
Tickets per movie will be Adults $10, Concession $7 and Under 12s $5.
Rockin on East Central will be at 98 East Street on Friday and Saturday and Narrandera Park Oval near the Visitor Information Centre on Sunday. This should be your first stop for a program. In fact www.rockinoneast.com.au has it all.

Barellan will revisit the good old days with their award winning Good Old Days event at Barellan Showground on Saturday and Sunday, October 3 and 4.
This heritage weekend features demonstrations of working Clydesdales and bullock teams, cow milking, butter churning, wood-chopping, blacksmithing, whip making, rope making, ploughing, blade shearing, re-barrelling of the Furphy water tank, sheaf making – you name it.
