As warmer months approach, the number of incidents increases with 61 residential break and enters reported to police in August.
Crime prevention officer, Senior Constable Peter Narouz, said thieves were targeting homes that were typically near railway lines, laneways or bush reserves across Glenfield Park, Ashmont and Kooringal.
Police are encouraging locals to ensure houses are properly secure.
