Mount Austin High School students are not afraid to ask the question that might just save a life.
R U OK? Day was established in 2009 to raise awareness about suicide prevention and special education teacher at Mount Austin High, Emma Heerey, said her students are excited to participate again this year.
“Some people’s lives aren’t fantastic every day … but it’s not about the kids fixing things,” she said.
“It’s to let them know it’s alright to be not OK but it’s really nice for someone to say ‘how are you’.”
Guest speakers from Headspace will speak to students and a morning tea will be held with treats baked by the students.
Is your school or business doing something for R U OK?
