Make a mighty noise or be lumbered with a dud plan
SO HERE we are, well into this forced-upon-farmers Murray Darling Basin Plan and the Murray Darling Basin has been throttled to a mere shadow of its former self by scare tactics and one-sided narrow-mindedness.
To think that Dartmouth Dam is at 70 per cent capacity, along with Hume Dam at 40 per cent, and NSW farmers are getting bugger all or no allocation is a blight on this nation.
It is well-known that half of all stored water is owned by the Australian government (environmental water) along with private investors.
The rice industry is once again crippled.
It seems our politicians and communities are fiddling while Rome burns.
So here we have an irrigation system, once the pride of our nation and supplying clean safe food to Australians and the world, now to a point where water providers are questioning the viability of keeping it going.
Wake up to yourselves Australians and make damn sure we support irrigated farming, a fair go for our farmers and a triple bottom line approach to modernising the basin.
If you think that sitting down and meeting with the zealots running all this will achieve what you want then I suggest you live in Noddy land. We all must demand a better go, for the horse has very nearly bolted.
Time is of the essence.

Our local police need praise, not condemnation
PUBLIC praise is necessary at times to support our police force and the work they do.
Imagine being part of the extensive work done by the police to bring to justice around 50 people for dealing in drugs in and around our city.
There must have been thousands of hours of paper work and observations and planning done before even one arrest was made.
And now the police have to hang around and wait for the courts to deal with each person charged and wonder how many will get off just because they had a tough childhood.
I have recently been involved in the death of a close friend who died as a pauper and as well had no family or relatives, and no will.
I wish to publically compliment the Wagga Police, in particular Stephanie Meredith, for their wonderful and compassionate care and concern for the deceased.
We made extensive efforts to locate a long lost sister of the deceased but to no avail.
I had to call on the police many times and they always did what they could.
After the funeral I had a phone call from Stephanie to check that all went as well as it could.
So, next time you have contact with the police, consider their work and the associated awful jobs they have to do.

Atheist lefties must start doing things by the book
WHAT IS conveniently being overlooked in the gay marriage debate is that no authority to do so should be coming from mankind.
It’s not up to us to decide for or against – the bible has already decided.
Adam and Eve and their children were the first family unit in the human race, designed by the “architect” himself, who knows the overall plan.
To be constantly meddling in his affairs by substituting them to suit ours is blatant disregard for what is right.
We get what we allow and what we should allow are those things that correspond with accordance with his written will.
They are always being shoved aside by the atheist lefties and their numerous “causes”.
