On the end of a 198-point hiding, Charles Sturt University coach Ash Weldon only just stopped short of declaring East Wagga-Kooringal morals for the Farrer League flag.
The Hawks kicked 12 goals in the opening quarter at Peter Hastie Oval and barely let up as they completed an unbeaten home-and-away season in style.
“There’s just too many contributors across the ground,” Weldon said of EWK.
“There can be surprises in finals, but they’ve been brilliant.”
Marc Geppert and Christian Kelly kicked 19 goals between them; Geppert finishing with 111 goals for the season.
On the back of big wins over Marrar and the Jets, Hawks coach Gavin McMahon couldn’t be happier.
“You just want to maintain your standard and four quarter efforts, and our run and carry across the board was excellent,” McMahon said.
Despite the big margin, the Bushpigs narrowly avoided the wooden spoon on percentage.
