Around Narrandera

NARRANDERA Cup race meeting will go ahead - rain, hail or shine on Saturday, August 15.
This includes not only trackside races, weather permitting, but a six card TAB event in the comfort of a heated betting ring.
Judging by previous years, Fashions on the Field will be spectacular with the winner receiving two return airfares to $1800 value, accommodation up to $350 and $650 cash.
Face of Narrandera Races could belong to anyone.
From noon, Face of Narrandera Race Day ambassador, Alex Paterson will be gate-side with “early bird” gift bags for the first 20 ladies over 18 years to enter.
The kids can also look forward to a fun day with activities and amusements, including the Lions Train and a petting zoo.
Come “dressed to the nines”, enjoy a wonderful day of racing, socialising, eating and drinking and join the after party from 6pm until midnight.
Oh, yes, good luck.
60 years young
NARRANDERA Women Bowlers recently celebrated the sixtieth anniversary of their club’s formation.
It is a credit to the Narrandera ladies that every club in the Murrumbidgee District Women’s Bowling Association, together with Lockhart and Hillston, was represented at their milestone celebrations. Great effort ladies.

THE On Common Ground Festival, organised by the Cad Factory, is being launched at Gallery of Imaginings, East Street, Narrandera at 6pm on Monday, August 24.
The arts festival will run from October 16 to 18 in Narrandera Common, along the Murrumbidgee River.
Due to the combined efforts of 17 local and 5 visiting artists, two curators and 60 community members, textiles, performance, video projection, installation, story-telling music and more will feature.
On Common Ground guarantees a spectacular experience and celebrates what links us, although our viewpoints and histories may differ.
Consider this an invitation to the opening and RSVP your acceptance via email to Julie Briggs at julie@cadfactory.com.au.
