Patrick John Walsh proposed to Ellie Clare Maslin on the beach at Merimbula.
The couple enjoyed cheese, crackers and a bottle of wine before Patrick got on one knee to propose to Ellie, who he met through mutual friends at his sister’s 18th.
Ellie and Patrick were later married at St Michael’s Cathedral before a sit-down reception at Elements at the Botanic Gardens with 75 guests from Wagga, Albury, Lockhart, Armidale and Moree.
A Hummer from Canberra was hired to transport the bridal party and parents.
Ellie, the fifth of 12 children to John (deceased) and Talaya Maslin of Wagga, wore a Stella York designer gown in capri chiffon with rouching on the bodice and diamante detailing below the bust.
She wore a cathedral length veil and was given away by her eldest brother, Michael Maslin.
Ellie was attended to by her maid of honour Sarah Maslin and bridesmaids Kathleen Maslin, Erin Maslin and Caitlin Walsh, who wore floor length chiffon dresses in midnight navy.
Patrick, the eldest son of Barry and Jenny Walsh of Wagga, was joined by best man Troy Walsh, Shaun Walsh, Owen Walsh and Nathan Breeze.
Flowergirl Flynn Morey, the bride’s cousin, was joined by page boy Ruben Walsh, the groom’s cousin.
Ellie, a registered nurse, and Patrick, a carpenter, jumped on board a Carnival Cruise to the Pacific Islands for 10 days as their honeymoon.
The couple are currently saving to renovate their home.
