THE Riverina is one step closer to securing a specialist prostate nurse, following extensive campaigning for the cause.
Deputy Senator for Riverina, Deborah O’Neill, confirmed on Monday she received a petition calling for a prostate nurse to be allocated for the Riverina.
According to the latest data, the Murrumbidgee Local Health District is dramatically over-represented for prostate cancer, with about 350 locals living with the disease, accounting for one of the highest per capita figures in the state.
