Jeff Penza brought up his 100th win of the season as Northern Fury made it back to back wins to start her career at Wagga on Friday.
The $2.90 favourite made it two from two to help Penza bring up the milestone.
After injury left him four wins short of the mark last season, Penza was pleased to hit the mark.
“You don’t want to get stuck on 99 for too long,” he said. “I’ve been on it for four or five days but I’ve got the 100 and can drive home a bit happier now.”
The daughter of Northern Meteor continue her impressive start and Penza was once again aboard.
“The horse was very good and did everything right again,” Penza said.
“Very well educated and did have the barrier problems earlier but got through that well.
“She travelled really nice behind the speed, they probably went a bit steady for her but she was ready to go at the top of the straight and whacked on pretty nice.”
