If it is not claimed on the first draw this week, then there will be a second draw conducted. There were no two game winners on the day.
Best performed team last weekend comprised Daryl Pellow and Len Brill, with runners-up being John Dean and Ron Cameron.
Interested players should nominate by 12.30pm for a 1pm start. Inexperienced bowlers are very welcome and will be included in a team with experienced players.
Irrespective if a team wins or not, they still have an entry in the jackpot draw. The club triples draw is on the board, with games in the first round to be played on or before the July 12.
Reminder that the annual intertown competition begins on Wednesday, August 26. Interested players should refer to the notice board.
Tumbarumba
The final of the Tumbarumba B Grade Singles was contested on Saturday between Paul Latham and Charlie Garrison.
It was a game that started with a flurry of shots to Garrison that saw him lead five-nil before Latham tied it up at five-all on six ends.
The lead then changed four times to again be tied up at 14-all, Latham then won the next five ends to lead 21-14 and then 28-17 before closing the game out for a good 31-20 victory.
On Saturday, John Salter travelled to Tumut RSL for the District Champion of Club Champions Singles.
After a tight first game win 31-27 over Kevin Crampton from Tumut RSL, Salter then faced Nic Gannon from Tumut Bowling Club in the final. After a tight opening he led 22-18 before losing the last five ends to be defeated 31-22.
On Sunday, he teamed with Matthew Salter (sub for Ralph Fair) to contest the final of the pairs.
After a slow start against Brad Thomas and Nic Gannon from Tumut BC where they trailed 9-4 and then 18-11 on 13 ends, the team put its game together winning the next six ends to lead 25-18 and despite losing the last two ends managed to hold on for a 25-22 victory.
Congratulations to Tumbarumba bowlers Bill Butz, John Salter, Paul Wood, Damian Shore, Geoff Hulm and Bob Miller, who have been selected in the Southern Highlands District team for the challenge match against South West District at Cootamundra on Sunday.
