Coleambally driver Ellen Bartley has finished third in the NSW Rising Stars series which culiminated at Menangle on Sunday.
After an average start in the10-race series at Young, Bartley rocketed into contention with a win and a second at Penrith on Thursday.
The 21-year-old said Penrith was the highlight.
“Penrith was a really good night with a first and a second there,” Bartley said.
“It was really fun, really good to meet new people and make friends for life.”
Bartley finished second in her first race at Menangle since her mini-trotting days.
Sydneysider Jack Trainor claimed the series from defending champion Chris Geary.
Bartley edged out the Riverina’s second representative Reece Maguire by one point.
