The spotlight will shine centre stage on Jo Darby as she performs in the one-woman show, Shirley Valentine.
Mrs Darby has coveted the role for many years and will revel in her chance to bring the character to life when the show opens next month.
The Wagga School of Arts Community Theatre (SoACT) is putting on the show, which is about a middle aged housewife who has become very bored and gets the opportunity to go to Greece and find herself again.
This is the first time SoACT has put on a one-woman show but Mrs Darby said she feels confident she has prepared enough.
Shirley Valentine will be open on August 2 and performed for five weeks on Sundays from 3pm.
