GRIFFITH coach Brandon Mathews believes close losses could end up coming back to bite the Swans late in the year.
The Swans lost another close one, this time at home to Leeton-Whitton, 11.12 (78) to 11.8 (74).
It was the third time this year that Griffith had lost by seven points or less.
Griffith coach Brandon Mathews is frustrated by the Swans inconsistencies.
“That’s the third or fourth game we’ve lost by under a goal. It’s getting to the stage where honourable losses aren't really acceptable,” Mathews said.
“We’re really shooting ourselves in the foot. While it was good to get that close, we’re a good footy side.
“If we played to our potential, we’d be up the pointy end of the ladder.”
