Byrne will return to the reality dance program for his third season after partnering with Jesinta Campbell and Ricki-Lee Coulter for seasons 13 and 14, respectively.
Byrne made it to the top three last season with Coulter and is looking to improve this time around.
“The reason Ash is on this show is because she’s a personality and that translates onto television,” he said.
“I learnt a lot from last season about myself as a teacher and choreographer … so I’ll utilise those elements again.”
The pair have already been working on basic ballroom techniques and Byrne is identifying Pollard’s strengths and weaknesses to develop routines around them.
Pollard had dance training when she was in school so Byrne said he will spend time re-teaching her techniques.
In addition to his Dancing With The Stars commitments, the father-of-two is performing in the Melbourne season of the stage production of Strictly Ballroom.
Byrne still has a connection to Wagga and said he was overwhelmed at the support he received from the Riverina last season.
Dancing With The Stars will debut on Prime7 later in the year.
