The mighty Beyer-Garratt 6029 and its distinct whistle ricocheted throughout the city centre over the June long weekend.
It was heard most loudly at Wagga station, where you’d be mistaken for thinking it was Flinders Street station.
Organisers estimate attendance for the historic steam train was in the thousands.
