Narrandera
The suggested plan for Narrandera’s waterways over the next five years includes a hydrological and lakebed mapping study during 1915/16 ($75,854). Other items on the agenda include an access upgrade for Rocky Waterholes, modify access of pontoon at Old Brewery Flats, installation of facilities at Rocky Waterholes Boat Ramp facility, stage three of environmental degradation and bank erosion at Lake Talbot and provision of additional pontoon facilities at Lake Talbot.
Estimated cost is around $309,174 with the council’s estimated contribution over five years being $116,660.
Sunshine, the original live stage play/musical set in the World War I era was written especially for the Anzac centenary. The event played to packed houses on the nights of April 24 and 25. All connected deserve the highest praise. The depth of talent in all of its facets is outstanding.
The Food Bowl Inland Railway Alliance (FBIRA), formed by Narrandera Shire Council, is moving ahead in its advocacy for a share of the action when the proposed inland rail route is determined. The outcome of the project will link the Ports of Brisbane and Melbourne via an inland rail route.
Narrandera Sports Ground will be fitted out with a new 5.2m x 6m scoreboard at a cost of $32,153 following receipt of council authorisation. Sporting bodies and sponsors will among those contributing to the cost of the new scoreboard.
