THE annual Barry Carne Memorial interstate ski race challenge has been cancelled due to a low water level in Lake Albert.

For the competition, scheduled for May 10 and 11, to go ahead the lake needs to be a minimum of two metres.
Boat Club commodore Mick Henderson said it’s depth of between 1.2m and 1.5m forced the cancellation of the event for the fifth time.
The city’s economy will suffer, with 60 boats and up to 4000 people expected to have converged on Wagga for the event.
