PEOPLE who believe it is all right for drunks to assault police have been sent a message by Wagga magistrate Erin Kennedy.
She gave 42-year-old Ashmont man Jason Edward Rushby a 12-month suspended jail sentence after he pleaded guilty to assaulting a police officer causing actual bodily harm.
Ms Kennedy described Rushby’s actions as beyond appalling.
He punched an officer, causing his lip and nose to bleed, and then ran away.
