DRIVING speeds will be changed by the Roads and Maritimes Services (RMS) over the next fortnight in an attempt to make speeds on roads more consistent.

Busabout Wagga’s manager Matthew Bell has praised the speed changes, saying it would ease driver stress.
“To have some consistency between the speed limits would be very useful,” Mr Bell said.
Busabout operate a number of services on Tasman Road and Bourke Street, roads which are affected by the speed changes.
RMS has announced seven speed limits will be changed in the Riverina with most severe change occurring on the Holbrook Wagga Road in Holbrook.
Drivers will be able to travel 30 km/h faster, with the speed upped from 50 km/h to 80 km/h.
SPEED LIMIT CHANGES:
- Holbrook Wagga Road (from 50 metres north of Millswood Road to 50 metres north of Pinnibar Road) – current speed limit is 50 km/h. The new speed limit will be 80 km/h.
- Borowa Street, Young from Thornhill Street to Zouch Street – The current speed limit it 50 km/h, the new speed limit is 40 km/h.
- Copland Street, from Lake Albert Road, Kooringal to 140 metres west of Sutton Street, East Wagga. The speed limit will increase from 50 km/h to 60 km/h.
- Copland Street, East Wagga, 170 metres west of Blaxland Road to Tasman Road. The speed limit will be increased from 50 km/h to 60 km/h.
- Tasman Road in Gumly Gumly, from Hammond Avenue to 650 metres south of Hammond Avenue/
- Bourke Street, Bourkelands, from Bourkelands Drive to Holdbrook Road Wagga. The speed limit will decrease from 7- km/h to 60 km/h.
