About 12.16am on Sunday, police became engaged in a pursuit with the Commodore in the Wagga CBD before terminating it a short time later due to safety concerns.
The pursuit was re-engaged on Edward Street, near the Baylis Street intersection, shortly before the Commodore ran a red light and hit another car.
The occupants of the other car were unhurt.
Police are still seeking information about the Commodore, which sped off from the scene of the crash. They are inquiring as to whether it may have been stolen.
