Managing director Mark Rapley and his wife Jeanette watched on in amazement as JAM Media was the last name plucked from the barrel at the 100 Club Gala Dinner and Draw at Murrumbidgee Turf Club on Saturday night.
They had found themselves in an identical situation three years earlier when the creative advertising agency won the exclusive sponsorship package for the 2012 Cup.
“I cannot believe we have won it twice,” Mr Rapley told more than 300 guests at the glittering function.
“It was a wonderful experience when we won the first time and we never expected to have the chance again.”
JAM Media is only the second business in the 100 Club’s 20-year history to secure the naming rights on multiple occasions.
Shep’s Earthmoving Repairs celebrated three wins in the space of four years between 2008 and 2011 in what considered one of the world’s most unlikely sequence of successes for an event where the odds of winning are 100-1.
The 2015 JAM Media Wagga Cup will be held on Friday, May 1.
“Because we have been through it before we know how special the day will be,” Mr Rapley said.
Last year’s winner the Duke of Kent Hotel was still in contention with six names left in the barrel.
