A GROUP representing local councils has committed to address three regional priorities under a state government pilot.
Riverina Eastern Regional Organisation of Councils (REROC) adopted an action plan on Tuesday that will be forwarded to the state government as one of five Joint Organisations (JO) pilots in NSW.
The plan details actions REROC will take over the next 10 months to address water and wastewater, freight transport and regional planning in the area.
REROC chairman Paul Braybrooks pointed to consistent water restrictions and collaborating on regional infrastructure development across member councils as examples.
He said some some of the actions in the plan could continue under the auspice of REROC after the pilot ends in December.
The state government then has until September 2016 to determine what parts of the JO pilot should be implemented.
