Police were called to the IGA supermarket in Tolland about noon on Thursday by staff complaining that two women had stolen products.
Two women, a 40-year-old from Central Wagga and a 34-year-old Ashmont woman, were stopped by police in Raye Street and searched.
The search allegedly resulted in stolen goods and cannabis being found on the 40-year-old.
She was given a criminal infringement notice for shoplifting and a cannabis caution.
The other woman was also issued a criminal infringement notice for shoplifting.
The goods were returned to the store, police said.
