HUME League premier Henty has snared the prized signings of Queanbeyan footballers Ryan Quade and Matt Liddle.
Just two months after claiming a Hume League premiership, Henty won another battle, this time for the signatures of the Queanbeyan pair.
Quade and Little were heavily pursued by a number of clubs throughout the Riverina before they settled on the Swampies.
Former Queanbeyan big man Roy Jaques was one of the major reasons behind their decision to sign with Henty after he linked with the Hume League club this year.
New Henty captain-coach Josh Gaynor is thrilled to welcome Quade and Liddle on board.
"I'm excited to bring a couple of new faces to the club," Gaynor said.
"Especially when they come from a higher standard of footy like that."
Quade, 28, is one of Henty's biggest signings in years.
He captained Queanbeyan for the last eight years, most recently in the North Eastern Australian Football League (NEAFL).
Quade brought up his 200th game with the club this year.
He is a best and fairest, premiership player, and has represented both NSW and ACT.
Quade also spent time with Sydney Swans' reserves.
Predominantly a key forward, Quade has Henty excited.
"His wrap sheet is huge, it's endless," Gaynor said.
"Just that on field leadership that he'll bring will add to what we've already got.
"He'll bring that from a higher level and hopefully list the standard of the entire group."
Liddle was named best-on-ground in Queanbeyan's grand final win in AFL Canberra first division.
Gaynor believes Liddle will prove a quality on-baller.
"The Hume League will suit him down to the ground," he said.
"He's a hard, in and under player that will add to our midfield."
The recruits are well-timed after Henty lost Jason Brown (retirement), best and fairest Sam Murray (Wodonga Raiders) and Ryan Hon (Albury Tigers) since the grand final victory.
Henty has now added Gaynor, Quade and Liddle, as well as securing the rest of its list.
Gaynor is particularly pleased to have Jaques stay on at the club.
"It's great to have a guy like Roy back on board who the club has that much respect for," he said.
