Company executives hosted a dinner at the Riverine club on Thursday, launching its new name - G&C Mutual bank.
NSW South West area manager Michael Reid, who is based in Wagga said while the name will change the company's excellent service will be retained.
"It's business as usual," Mr Reid said.
He said the rebranding exercise would be staggered, with customers receiving G&C Mutual Bank branded cards when their current ones expired.
In the company's annual report, chief Dave Taylor confirmed the fund would begin trading under its new name next month.
"Following a lengthy consultation process, SGE will commence trading on December 1, 2014 as G&C Mutual bank," Mr Taylor said.
"After passing our 55th anniversary earlier this year, the change of name to G&C Mutual Bank marks the start of an exciting new era for the credit union."
To coincide with the name launch, the credit union will unveil a series of new products.
"We're also planning some exciting new product promotions to coincide with the name change, including a platinum credit card linked to the Qantas frequent flyer program, a new premium banking package with unlimited fee-free transactions, and a suite of new general insurance products."
More than 70 people attended the dinner.
Mr Reid said it was well-received and exciting to share the future of the company with its members.
