An Ambulance NSW spokeswoman said paramedics were called to the falls at 11.34am on Saturday following initial reports a child was stuck in the water.
Despite further information that suggested two people were stranded, the spokeswoman confirmed only one girl was involved.
"She was assisted from the water and assessed by paramedics but did not require transport to hospital," the spokeswoman said.
The young female's age is unknown at this stage.
The spokeswoman said the Snowy Hydro SouthCare helicopter was initially tasked to the incident.
