A TAXI driver was threatened with a knife and robbed of his takings on a suburban Wagga street at the weekend.

The incident is one of two robberies being investigated by police.
According to police, the 52-year-old taxi driver received a call to pick up passenger on Crawford Street, Ashmont, about 12.30am on Saturday.
The driver was approached by a male who produced a knife and demanded his takings.
An amount of cash was handed over before the offender fled on foot.
The taxi driver wasn't injured during the ordeal.
In the other incident, a 19-year-old man was punched as he walked along Coleman St about 11.20am on Friday.
The man was approached by four offenders wearing hooded tops, before being punched and falling to the ground.
The offenders stole the man's wallet and were seen getting into a white Ford sedan driven by a fifth person.
The victim sustained minor injuries.
