Crime manager Detective Inspector Paul Smith said the Griffith man was arrested after he tried to flee from target action group officers who approached him at his residence on Wednesday morning.
After being questioned at the Griffith police station, the man was charged with eight break and enter offences allegedly committed on businesses in the city.
He was also charged with stealing two vehicles, stealing from 14 motor vehicles and other property offences.
He is expected to face court on Thursday.
