8.40am: A man was killed when his Holden Commodore hit a tree on the Burley Griffin Way east of Harden on Monday night.
The accident was discovered by a police officer travelling between Yass and Binalong some time later, who found the car had run off the road and hit a tree.

7.30am: A move by Wodonga to have a public holiday declared for its annual gold cup race has failed to excite Wagga into following suit.
Although subject to debate for years, with even former mayors supporting at least a half-day holiday for the Wagga Gold Cup in May, there has been little appetite for the proposal by two of the organisations that count the most: the Murrumbidgee Turf Club (MTC) and the Wagga Business Chamber.

7.20am: Essential Energy has forewarned businesses in Central Wagga to expect a month of intermittent blackouts later this year as the electricity company completes an upgrade of the network.
The company issued a statement earlier this week telling customers that ageing infrastructure needed to be replaced to improve power supply reliability.
