Wagga continues to win hearts

But there is only one place he calls home - Wagga.

And the reason?

It comes down to the clean environment, access to education, a balanced lifestyle and the city's multicultural feel.

It was therefore no surprise to him that Wagga was named as the most family-friendly city in Australia.

In January, a Suncorp Bank report analysed employment levels, schools, volunteer work, health and family income levels to find Wagga as the number-one location in Australia for families to be based.

It came down to the city offering the best in terms of lifestyle and education.

Something Dr Yi agrees with wholeheartedly.

"I think Wagga deserves it," Dr Yi said.

"I think the environment is unique and excellent.

"Unlike China, there is no pollution, the air is so fresh and the sky is always blue.

"Wagga has a comprehensive education system with high schools and higher education options, which are for everyone,"

"The environment is also very multicultural.

"In the School of Information Studies at CSU we have many international students and staff from other countries including Pakistan, China, the US, Canada and the UK."

Dr Yi was born and raised in China before he moved to the United States to live in Connecticut and Texas for eight years to complete his Masters and a pHd.

It was in January 2011 that he finally made his way to Australia and Wagga to start his new life as a lecturer in Information Studies at Charles Sturt University.
