AMAZING: Before the weekend’s wet weather, Riverina pastors Gary Kenney, Paul Wilksch and Graham Klemke had already planned to ask the Lord above for rain on Sunday. As it turned out, God delivered ahead of schedule.

GOD is being hailed a mind reader by Riverina church leaders. Before Saturday’s wild storm, leaders from Christian churches from Henty, Holbrook, Walla, Brocklesby, Jindera and Gerogery had already planned to gather in prayer for rain at a church service in Culcairn yesterday.Their prayers were answered, however, before anyone had the chance to sing a hopeful hymn.As of 9am yesterday, 7.6 millimetres of rain was already recorded in Wagga with 14ml at Narrandera, 21ml at Tumbarumba, 11ml at Holbrook and 9ml at Young. Many people in Wagga took to the front porch to watch the Saturday night storm that was highlighted by a spectacular lightning display.Others were on the front porch for a different reason – power outages – that were reported across the city.Seven hundred homes at Walbundrie were without electricity for six hours when strong winds felled a tree across local powerlines.Technical officer from the Forest Hill Bureau of Meteorology Geoff Nicholls reports that Wagga experienced wind gusts of up to 75km/h on Saturday night.
