POLICE are investigating whether a RAAF Base employee was driving too fast when he rolled his car and died early Saturday morning.Western Australian man Shane Cullen, 23, died after he lost control of his late-model Toyota Corolla at the Copland Street-Kooringal Road roundabout shortly before 6am.Police investigators said Mr Cullen was travelling east along Copland Street when he lost control of his car at the roundabout. The vehicle mounted the curb and then rolled a number of times before coming to rest on its roof.He died at the scene from extensive injuries.Kooringal Road and access from the western side of Copland Street was closed to traffic for most of the morning while detectives carried out their investigation. An air force spokeswoman said Mr Cullen had worked at RAAF Base Wagga since November last year.He was employed as an avionics technician.Meanwhile, a motorist contacted police around midday yesterday when they discovered a car on its roof, 10km from Junee on the road to Gundagai. The engine was still warm when police and paramedics arrived; however, they were unable to find the driver or any passengers.Later it was discovered the driver, described only as a young female, had been picked up by a passing motorist and taken to Junee Hospital immediately after the crash.
