Mr Savill died of a heart attack on Monday, aged 59.The sudden death of the father of four daughters and husband of Domenica has shocked and saddened the Kildare community, which last year lost another popular staff member, with the death of Nancy Petts.Assistant principal Simon Huntly said Mr Savill was careers advisor at Kildare’s predecessor, Trinity Senior High School, between 1998 and 2003 and then careers advisor and co-ordinator of technology and applied science at Kildare from 2004.“He was a highly-respected member of the college community and will be sorely missed by staff and students,” Mr Huntly said.A funeral service for Mr Savill will be held in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Kooringal at 1.30pm followed by private cremation.Kildare students in years 8, 9, 10 and 11 who were due to restart lessons tomorrow will now begin on Monday, Mr Huntly said.“There will be no formal lessons on Friday,” Mr Huntly said.“Limited supervision will be available throughout the day but students are asked not to attend where practical.”He asked students intending to attend Mr Saville’s funeral to wear their school uniform as a mark of respect.
