Bradbrook broke his wrist after a crash landing while jumping the fence at Greenfield Park last week.
It didn't stop him from doing some training at the time, but it's now put a halt on things.
"I'd fallen over and was already on the field I thought I might as well have a couple of goal kicks," Bradbrook said.
"It was pretty painful but I thought I'd just aggravated an old issue.
"The next day I went to get it checked up on to make sure I hadn't re-broken it but I had."
Bradbrook fractured his wrist playing for Yanco-Wamoon last season and re-broke it right where a screw had been inserted.
The 32-year-old is looking at recovery period of around 10 weeks.
He's set to have his wrist immobilised for the eight weeks and hopes it won't affect him too much if the season gets under way.
"I'm hoping by 10 weeks I should have had a bit of physio done on it and we can go from there," Bradbrook said.
"It's still a couple of months until we are playing so I won't miss too many games hopefully."
It comes as Albury have already lost of one their new halves after English recruit Joe Sanderson elected to head back home due to the coronavirus crisis.
However with Group Nine is on hold until at least July 18 due to the health threat, captain-coach Adrian Purtell could sees some positives in the timing of the injury.
"It is a bit frustrating," Purtell said.
"It is really unfortunate for Shannon and for us as well, he's been really great around the club..
"He was doing the right thing and trying to stay in shape but I guess if there was ever a year for things to go wrong it is probably this year.
"It is just the way things are going at the moment."
Despite football coming to a halt, the Kiwi has been enjoying his move to the Thunder
"I'm enjoying Albury," Bradbrook said.
"It is a nice place with good people.
"There wasn't too many opportunities in Leeton for us as a family but after coming over here straight away my oldest daughter started working at Muffin break and my partner was working at the Astor.
"We had settled in pretty well until the COVID stuff happened."
