As the men shine their shoes and the ladies pick out their finest gowns, Mia’s family has high hopes for a sold out event, with less than three tables left.
Suffering from a congenital femoral deficiency (CFD), meaning one leg is shorter than the other, Mia’s family is fundraising for overseas treatment.
With a $300,000 goal to get the family to America, mother Leila Bright said the ball was the family’s major fundraiser for the year.
“It’s a chance to put a dent in our huge goal but its also a way to celebrate everyone’s support,” Ms Bright said.
“By getting together we can thank the community and it would mean the world to get all the tickets sold.
“Every dollar counts.”
Two diamond pendants worth more than $6000 will be auctioned at the ball’s champagne and diamond bar.
Tickets for the July 29 event can be purchased from the Civic Theatre.
