Some of Wagga Wagga’s finest philanthropists, thinkers and doers have been recipients of The Daily Advertiser Roll of Honour.
As one of the most generous communities in the nation, The Daily Advertiser created the award in 2003 to recognise individuals who have given so much to the rich tapestry of the city.
The first winner – pioneer in rural and regional health, Dr Margaret Sheldon OAM – set a high standard for others to follow.

However, she has been matched by a list of equally impressive awardees, including Gordon and John Braid, Michael Kennedy, Kay Hull and John Studdert – all names familiar not because of who they are, but for what they have done.
This year a new name will be added to the Roll of Honour and, as in the past, it will be a person who doesn’t seek the limelight but is always there when needed.
And that’s what makes Wagga so special - it is a community that cares.
The Daily Advertiser is proud to have created and support this special award.
