Police were called to shut down a party on Boyd Place, Tolland about 11pm amid reports of gatecrashers and rowdy activity.
When they arrived, they were confronted by a 16-year-old male who began hurling profanities and abuse.
Detectives claim the teen then approached and aggressively shoved a male officer.
When police tried to arrest the teen and take him into custody, he turned and punched a female officer in the face.
Backup was called in to handcuff the 16-year-old and take him to Wagga police station.
When general duties staff were directing the accused to a holding cell, he allegedly lashed out again and assaulted a third police officer.
Inspector Peter McLay said his erratic and violent behaviour was consistent with a drug-induced episode.
“Police believe he was under the influence of drugs,” he said.
“This was extremely aggressive and unpredictable behaviour.
“He had to be detained for for about eight hours while we believe the substances left his system.”
In a stunning turn of events, the 16-year-old was granted bail early on Saturday morning and released under his mother’s supervision.
He was charged with three counts of assaulting police and one count of resist arrest to appear before the children's court May 23.
Despite sustaining a bloodied lip, bruising and nasty facial swelling, the female police officer assaulted managed to finish her shift.
“She’s very tough and it’s a testament to her,” Inspector McLay said.
“She didn’t require hospital treatment and probably went home with a bad headache.
“This is another example of the appalling behaviour exhibited by people under the influence of drugs.”
It strikes similarities to the bashing of a policewoman by a naked man in Junee.
