LYN Russell has quit her position as General Manager at Wagga City Council yesterday, with news of her new appointment in Cairns coming through to the people of Wagga through a "Google Alert". Ms Russell has been appointed the new chief executive officer at Cairns Regional Council, and will start on November 16.Ms Russell has abandoned the Wagga ship after just 18 months in the job, leaving behind a string of bright visions she had for the city.When contacted by the Daily Advertiser yesterday, Ms Russell declined to speak, citing her "hectic" working day as the reason she could not give the community a few quick answers.SEE tomorrow's Daily Advertiser for a full report on the shock resignation
