South Wagga recovered from early trouble at 4-12 to finish 6-59 from 48.3 overs.
It was still a big win to Colts, who recorded a 79-run first innings victory after being dismissed for 148.
Kooringal already had first innings points when they resumed at 6-118 on Saturday, after rolling the Blues for 69.
They tried their hand at an outright win but it was not to be.
“We still had 14 overs to go with with the rain, thunder and lightning it got too difficult,” Colts coach David Bolton said.
“We had them 4-12 and at that stage we thought we were a chance but Rowie came out and played his natural game, then Cookie and Skowie held us out for a while.”
Rowe top scored with 28 in South Wagga’s second innings, while Adam Skow and Nathan Cooke were unbeaten on five and six respectively, but occupied the crease for some time.
Colts spinner Keenan Hangian was causing plenty of headaches on a big-turning wicket and finished with 2-20.
The win puts Kooringal Colts into second position with just one round remaining.
Bolton is happy with how his team is going at the business end of the season.
“I’ve found the key to winning finals in Wagga is bowling well,” Bolton said.
“We haven’t batted well as we would have liked after Christmas but that’s not through a lack of effort, we just haven’t been able to post big enough scores. But as long we’re bowling teams out, we’re in the game.
“Pretty soon our battling will click hopefully.”
