With 40 years behind them the team at Graeme Hull Smash Repairs are planning for the next 40.
Expanding operations and keeping up with technology are two of the main areas they will focus on.
“We’re constantly getting busier and busier,” owner Brett Hull said.
“We want to be able to service everyone and not turn anyone away.”
They moved to Norton Street in 2007 but now need to expand again to keep up with demand.
The location is ideal so Mr Hull is looking at ways they can get more room without relocating the shop.
“We’re looking to expand here,” he said.
Constantly evolving also allows the team to raise their service standard.
“We want innovation through expansion and technology,” Mr Hull said.
Technology is changing the way smash repairs operate across the board with technology becoming more advanced every day.
“The industry as a whole is expanding and changing very quickly, what seems like new technology today is old tomorrow,” Mr Hull said.
“It presents challenges but also creates a large gap between ourselves, who are industry leaders, and others.
“If they don’t have their finger on the pulse they can be left behind.”
Just some of the newest equipment in the shop includes the car-o-liner with digital measuring (car-o-tronic) which can straighten the chassis and properly measure the vehicle and UV and infrared technology that allows rapid paint curing times meaning faster repair times on cars.
“You have to be up with technology to repair some of these new cars,” Mr Hull said.
This dedication to improvement and high standard of work has earnt the business the title of prefered repair for a multitude of insurance companies including: NRMA, CGU, Coles, Wesfarmers, Youi, Zurich, Toyota and many more.
