Hundreds of people are expected to walk through the gates for this year’s Wagga Pro Rodeo to marvel at the skills of cowboys and cowgirls.
The event attracts competitors from around the country and plenty of local talent.
Current Australian Champion Bronc Rider Brad Pearce will be competing along with the allround Champion of Australia Shane Kenny who will travel to Wagga from Emerald in Queensland.
“He’s been the allround champ for 15 years, it’s a world record,” organiser John “Happy” Gill said.
“Ben Hall, the Bareback Champion will also come along – he’s from Tumba. We have pretty good local talent.”

Just some of the events which will be running on the day include: Saddle Bronc Riding, Bull Riding, Brahman Steer Wrestling, Ladies Barrel Race and Junior Steer Ride.
“We believe Wagga is a big rodeo town – that’s the main reason we do it,” John “Happy” Gill said.
The rodeo raises money for Kurrajong Waratah primarily with one or two other charities often supported.
The Wagga Pro Rodeo is held at Equex on Saturday February 3 with events starting at 5pm.
There is limited seating so patrons are welcome to bring chairs. There will also be food, bar facilities and some amusements for kids operating during the event.
Tickets available at the gate: (cash or eftpos) $25 for adults, $15 for kids (children four and under free) and family tickets $55.
