Friday is going to bring the first of four days when the temperature is going to peak about 40 degrees.
The predicted minimum of 17 degrees on Friday was expected to be as cool as it is going to get until at least next Wednesday.
Friday is heading for a hot of 40 degrees, with clear skies and light winds.
On Saturday, the mercury is expected to soar past Friday’s 40-degree predicted top and peak at 42 degrees.
Sunday’s likely top is only marginally lower at 41 degrees, with partly cloudy skies.
The Bureau of Meteorology has predicted a 30 per cent chance of rain on a partly cloudy Monday, but that will not offer much relief from the heat, which is expected to reach 40 degrees.
It is not until Tuesday that the mercury is likely to peak below 40 degrees, but it is still likely to be a hot 37 degrees.
